Be seen, heard & understood: Build your confidence on screen

What inspired my unique 3-step approach to presentation skills training:

  1. LOOK

  2. ACT

  3. SOUND

These three key points stem from the recurring comments I receive from my clients:

"I hate the way I look on screen!", "My camera is rubbish."

"I'm conscious of my mannerisms and movements on camera [hands, eyes, mouth...]", "What do I do with my hands?", "Help, I feel so uncomforable!"

"I can't stand the sound of my own voice!", "I don't know if anyone is even listening to me!"

It’s wrong that these barriers (and more) are holding leaders back from inspiring and engaging a wider audience on camera.

And having read 'The Articulate Executive - Look, Act & Sound like a leader' by Granville N Toogood, it’s clear that these three key pillars are just as relevant now, in the age of video calls and virtual conferences, as they were when public speaking and presentation skills were the reserve of CEOs on stage and scripted professionals on screen.

So, after 25 years in the professional presenter business, this insight led me to create ‘The Lens Is Your Friend’, a back-to-basics, step-by-step online training course for leaders in business looking to build trust and make a greater connection with their audience on screen.

“The Lens Is Your Friend”

It's a mindset instilled in me early in my 25 year career on stage and TV. Everybody ‘gets it’ when I invite people to consider that ‘the lens is your friend’. A natural smile appears, no matter who you are!

Not everybody is a natural showman. Expressing yourself credibly and authentically down the lens takes some getting used to.

3-steps to confidence on camera

I’ve split my online programme into two main parts and one bonus module.

  1. The first part is called ‘What the tech?!’ all about the basic kit you need to get the best results from home

  2. The second is called ‘The Technique’ teaching the skills you need to ‘look, act and sound’ like the leader you already are and that your business needs.

  3. Lastly, my bonus module dedicated to helping you prepare for your presentation or talk #oneshot

With these skills in their toolkit, I believe everyone will grow in confidence, and so visibility, in business and their career.
